Trucker Huss is pleased to announce that Brad Huss and Brian Murray will be speaking at the 2025 Western Benefits Conference “Staying Current on the Coast: Preparing for What’s Next” being held August 27 – 28 in Newport Beach, CA. The annual conference is hosted by the Western Pension & Benefits Council (WP&BC) for benefits professionals to learn about new developments in the industry.
Brad will present on the panel “Recent Rip Tides of ERISA Litigation”. The presenters will discuss the latest trends in ERISA litigation, including a wave of recent cases contesting the use of 401(k) plan forfeitures and defined benefit plan pension risk transfers. They will also cover other developments concerning the enforceability of releases in ERISA matters, jury trials in excessive fee cases, and prohibited transaction claims post-Cunningham v. Cornell.
Brian will present “PEP Talk – What Everyone Needs to Know.” The panelist will discuss how Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs) are reshaping the retirement landscape with rapid growth and increasing adoption. The speakers will share insights from a pooled plan provider, auditor, ERISA attorney, and recordkeeper, covering operational benefits, fiduciary risks, and compliance issues.
