Brian Murray concentrates his practice in the area of employee benefits, with a focus on ERISA litigation.  He represents plan sponsors, trustees, and other fiduciaries in a wide range of employee benefits cases, including 401(k) and other retirement plan class actions, claims for retirement, medical, life and other benefits, ESOP and multiemployer pension plan disputes, and executive compensation matters.  

In addition to his litigation practice, Brian advises clients on a variety of employee benefits matters, including fiduciary responsibility, plan governance, operational corrections, and regulatory compliance, and represents fiduciaries in Department of Labor investigations.

Brian was named a Southern California “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2018 through 2023.  Brian is a frequent speaker on employee benefits and ERISA litigation topics, and has written numerous articles on subjects of interest to plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and service providers.
