Alaina concentrates her practice in the area of employee benefits, with a focus on health and welfare plans and retirement plans. She assists plan sponsors, trustees, and other fiduciaries in all aspects of employee benefits, including on compliance and fiduciary issues related to the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, and COBRA.

During law school, Alaina served on the board of the Hastings Employment and Labor Law Student Association, as well as a Staff Editor for the Hastings Journal on Gender and the Law. In addition, she was a TA for Legal Research and Writing I. Alaina also interned for Legal Aid at Work, where she assisted low-income workers with obtaining unemployment benefits. Alaina was a member of the UC Hastings Honor Society, Order of the Coif, and Thurston Society.  Alaina also received CALI awards for the highest-class grade in the courses Legal Research & Writing I and Legal Ethics.

Alaina was recognized in 2024 as a “Rising Star” by Northern California Super Lawyers magazine.
