Alaina concentrates her practice in health and welfare plans and multiemployer plans.
She assists clients with all aspects of health and welfare compliance (such as ERISA, HIPAA, Internal Revenue Code Section 125 plans, COBRA, Medicare, ACA, CAA, and MHPAEA) by drafting plan documents, SPDs and amendments; analyzing plan administrative and fiduciary issues; preparing submissions to the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor (including Private Letter Rulings); and resolving ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance issues raised in connection with investigations or audits by the Department of Labor or Internal Revenue Service. In addition, Alaina advises clients on issues relating to benefit claims and appeals and employee benefit matters in corporate acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
