Robert Gower will be co-presenting on the panel “More Tightly Secure 2.0” on Wednesday, February 5. The panel will explore SECURE 2.0’s automatic enrollment and Roth catch-up contribution provisions and what has been happening on the ground level with retirement overpayments since the law’s passage. The presentation will also offer insights regarding the 401(k) required minimum distribution rules, including distributions to beneficiaries.
Sarah Kanter is a panelist for the “Health and Welfare Update” on Saturday, February 8, and a member of the Program Committee for the meeting. The panel will overview the recent regulations and litigation relevant to group health plans. This includes the third iteration of regulations implementing the Affordable Care Act’s non-discrimination provisions and ensuing litigation; litigation regarding wellness plans with surcharges relating to vaccination status and tobacco usage; an update on where things stand with the No Surprises Act’s Independent Dispute Resolution (“IDR”) process; and the continued fall out from Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, including a new amendment to the HIPAA Privacy Rule providing increased protections for reproductive health care.
