Briana Desch concentrates her practice in the area of employee benefits, including qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation.  She advises plan sponsors, trustees, and other fiduciaries in a range of employee benefits matters that include how to comply with federal and state laws applicable to various employee benefit plans.

Briana also has litigation experience working on matters involving class action lawsuits involving allegations of fiduciary breach, ESOP disputes and benefit claims. 

During law school, Briana served as an investigative intern for the Employee Benefits Security Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor where she analyzed plan documents and financial records for compliance with federal laws applicable to employee benefit plans, as well as drafted subpoenas, document requests, internal memorandums, and compliance letters.  She also served as a mediator for Judge Donald S. Mitchell of the small claims division of the San Francisco Superior Court.

Briana is a member of The State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, Queen’s Bench Bar Association of the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Western Pension & Benefits Council.
