Tiffany Santos and Callan Carter to Present at the ABA 2018 Midwinter Meeting

Trucker Huss, APC is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the American Bar Association (ABA) 2018 Midwinter Meeting presented by the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law Employee Benefits Committee, February 8-10 in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Trucker Huss attorneys Tiffany Santos and Callan Carter will present at the conference.

Santos will participate on the panel “Multiemployer Plans: Current Pension and Welfare Plan Legislation and Agency Guidance and DOL Issues” discussing the rules, regulations, guidance and compliance issues (other than multiemployer pension plan funding) from each of the governing agencies specifically affecting multiemployer employee benefit plans.

Carter will participate on the panel “Crafting Compliant, Effective Behavior Health Benefit Programs” covering behavioral health benefit trends, including wellness programs, mental health benefits and EAPs, including the current rules and how to design compliant, effective benefit programs.

Tiffany Santos counsels employers and multiemployer trusts on all aspects of their employee benefit plans, including health and welfare plans, Section 125 cafeteria plans, and qualified retirement plans. She assists clients with compliance matters; administrative and plan design issues; plan, SPD and amendment drafting; IRS submissions; IRS and DOL investigations; and the review and negotiation of service provider agreements, including investment manager agreements.

Callan Carter focuses her practice primarily on health and welfare plans, cafeteria plans and the effects of healthcare reform. She advises clients on plan design, prepares required documents, and assists in compliance with applicable laws, including ERISA, HIPAA, IRC, USERRA, COBRA and the ACA (as well as state and local requirements). She advises clients on the complex application of non-discrimination rules, prohibited transactions, fiduciary issues, controlled group determinations, and benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions. She also negotiates services contracts on behalf of her clients with insurance companies and other health and welfare plan vendors.
