Deborah Judith Wiener Director
Deborah
specializes in plan design, regulatory
compliance, ERISA coverage, fiduciary liability
issues, and trust fund administration. She works with multiemployer and
union-sponsored plans and plan
fiduciaries. Deborah has significant
experience in devising legislative,
contractual and plan design strategies
for her clients to use in the highly
regulated and managed
care environments. Prior to devoting her
practice to employee benefits, Deborah
practiced labor law. She has litigated
extensively in both state and federal
court, and has 20 years of employee
benefits experience in both the public
and private sectors. As well as
representing pension and health and welfare plans,
including medical and disability plans, she
has extensive experience representing
legal defense plans and their
fiduciaries. As a member of the Employee
Benefits Committee of the American Bar
Association’s Section of Labor and
Employment Law, Deborah has served as
co-chair of the Public Employee Plans
and Welfare Plans Subcommittees. She has been a
contributing author to and a
chapter editor of the ABA Labor
Section’s Employee Benefits Law,
published by BNA.
